Syracuse women’s soccer was crushed by Notre Dame 3-0 today
The Last time Syracuse women’s soccer beat a ranked team an iPhone wasn’t even invented. That continued today when the Orange lost 3-0 to No. 23 Notre Dame. Although the team two of their key players Ashley Rauch and Kate Murphy with injury the team allowed a whopping 38 shots, the most they’ve allowed this season.
I don’t think we were able to emulate in training how freaking fast Notre Dame is our reserves aren’t that fast, I think it took us a bit to understand how to truly mark faster and more athletic players.
On the bright side of things SU goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch had herself quite the day. The Junior had a season high 11 saves.
We always know Shea is going to come up with unbelievable saves and you know the other reason Shea is in there is because she can get us out of trouble too with her distribution and long distribution, I thought she played really well out of the back today.
Things aren’t going To get any easier for the Cuse. Syracuse takes on Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Panthers may not be ranked but have an RPI of 14. Game time is 1t 1. Reporting from SU Soccer Stadium Timmy Weiss, Citrus TV.
