Syracuse women’s soccer eclipsed by No 8 North Carolina, despite a close battle

Some losses sting just a little bit more than other ones.  That was exactly the case when Syracuse women’s soccer fell to No 8 North Carolina today.  But don’t discredit this team, they played with grit, toughness, and heart all day long.  But unfortunately in the 65th minute a VAR check ruled that a penalty kick was granted to the Tar Heels which gave them the lone goal of the day.  But despite the loss head coach Nicky Thrasher Adams was pleased with her team’s efforts.

Nicky Thrasher Adams “When you’re playing the legendary North Carolina you know your gonna defend these games, we knew we were gonna defend against Florida State but if you go back to Florida State, we had 7 corner kicks, major offensive production , actually scored a goal they took it away we hit the post twice, like it’s not like we aren’t getting in there and battling we’re not putting the ball in the back of the net right now, which is a problem in this league. So really proud of our back line today, it wasn’t our best game against Florida State with our back line, and all the adjustments we asked them to make spot on today.”

The ACC gauntlet only continues for the Cuse on Sunday.  Syracuse takes on No 13 Wake Forest back at SU Soccer Stadium.  However, the Deamon Deacons just took down the No 1 team in the nation Stanford.  Reporting from SU Soccer Stadium, Timmy Weiss, Citrus TV.
