Syracuse Women’s Basketball suffers an 85-73 defeat to Florida St.

ADAM HIPSKY: Syracuse women’s basketball entered this afternoon on a three-game slide against Power five opponents but the challenge to snapping that skid was division 1’s second-best scoring offense the seals average over 95 points a game. And that charge is spearheaded by the nation’s leading score Tania Ladson. After Syracuse held the guard scoreless in the second quarter, the junior finally broke through in the second half guiding FSU to an 85-73 win. Silencing that top offense was the challenge for Syracuse head coach Felicia Legette Jack.
FELICIA LEGETTE-JACK: Our first half was remarkable and our fourth quarter was great that third quarter got away from us. Last game was the second quarter this game is the third quarter so we got to figure out you know we got to probably adjust a little bit more. I just thought that we went player to player they were going to get faster layups against us and so it was a coach’s call and we look at the film and continue to get better.
HIPSKY: Despite starting the calendar year 0 and 2 there’s still plenty of positive takeaways that the Cuse can take into the bulk of ACC play.
LEGETTE-JACK: J Jello plays so well and distribute the ball and run the play we had. Maddie Potts come in the game and and fly around and hit two monster threes and and play some defense on some incredible guards that’s been have three years experience and she’s a rookie. So I like what we’re building I like what we’re becoming and these kind of mishaps are going to make us better long down the stretch.
HIPSKY: The loss moves Syracuse to 0 and three in conference play that’s their worst start since 2006 next up the qes can pick up its first ACC win against an unfamiliar conference foe SMU visits the Dome Thursday at 10:30 Syracuse looks for a win there reporting from the Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida, Adam Hipsky, Citrus TV.
