Syracuse Women’s Basketball suffers a crushing 75-69 defeat against California
It was a tough stretch in the Golden State for Syracuse Women’s Basketball. On Thursday, SU lost by 21 points against Stanford and then today against Cal. A 75-69 tough loss for SU that left Orange Head Coach Felisha Leggett-Jack overcome by emotion.
“They play for their sisters and they really try. They know you left it out. It’s just like if Maceo had a game and you know you left it out there and they might have fell short. It feels the same. These are my daughters and I know how hard they’re working and I know how bad they wanted to, you know, help their sisters become successful. Something is going to happen miraculously at the end and I just know it. But this one hurts a little bit because I know these young ladies played for their sisters and I’m a tough coach but I’m a big baby when it comes to these young ladies.”
After today’s 6-point loss, SU is just 3-7 on the road this season and the Orange have a 4-10 record against conference opponents. Well, Syracuse heads back home but welcome a really tough opponent in No. 12 UNC on Thursday. Tip-off for that one is at 6 p.m. inside the Dome. I’ll be covering it for CitrusTV. But here, reporting from Berkeley, California,
