Syracuse Women’s Basketball no match for Notre Dame’s guard play

The ACC is one of the best women’s basketball conferences in the country, and number 10 Notre Dame proved it in a 93-62 victory over Syracuse. The orange hung around early in their first conference bout of the campaign, trailing by just one at the end of the first quarter break, but in the second half, the Fighting Irish stepped on the gas. The guard play was the difference. Sonia Citron, Hannah Hidalgo, and Olivia Miles all cracked the 20 point mark in the victory, and Syracuse just had no answers defensively.
Obviously, very talented. We knew that coming into the game, and we had our game plan, and I think we needed to stick to that a little bit more. You know, we know they’re going to score. That’s how it goes when you’re playing talented players like that. But just like locking into what we knew they were going to do, we knew they could shoot, you know, we knew they were going to be aggressive. So I think we probably could have done a bit of a better job, like guarding them as a team. You know, even if it’s not a one on one defensive stop, we can, you know there’s five of us, it’s our family best and their team.
