Syracuse Women’s Basketball drops a 74-66 contest against #20 NC State

It’s been a tough start to the season in ACC play for Syracuse Women’s Basketball. Just a 1-6 record in conference play heading into tonight’s matchup against 20th ranked NC State and especially after a 41-point victory for Boston College against SU last Sunday, there were low expectations for the Orange tonight. However, SU bared down and were ahead for 36 minutes in this contest until the very end. NC State went on an 11-0 run in the final two minutes in the fourth quarter to nail a 74-66 victory. Despite the loss, SU head coach Felisha Leggett-Jack reflected on the team’s resilience and fight shown throughout the contest.

Believe, believe that no matter how bad it looks, no matter how bad the road may seem, you know, my mom always said the darkest hour is just before dawn. Dawn hasn’t come yet, but we’re still fighting hard to figure out what’s around that corner. And one thing I know in that locker room I was just saying, they’re all still in. They’re all still fighting for Syracuse University women’s basketball here and the right for people to see that they are fighters.

After tonight’s loss, Syracuse falls to 7-12 on the season. The Orange will take on another Orange opponent in Clemson on Sunday, who have also struggled so far in ACC play. Tip off for that one is on Sunday at 2. Follow my partner at Adam Hipsky on X for updates throughout that one covering it for Citrus TV. But signing off here from the Dome, Josh Solomon, Citrus TV.
