Syracuse Women’s Basketball comeback falls short against #11 Maryland
Syracuse Women’s Basketball fell 84-73 to Maryland. The Terrapins went on a 15-0 run in the second quarter and never looked back. Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack was disappointed in the loss but still believes in the squad going forward.
Basketball isa game of runs, and it just so happened that Syracuse was on the wrong end of one in tonight’s 84-73 loss to number 11 Maryland. The Terps scored 15 straight points in a dominant four and a half minute stretch of the second quarter, and they simply never looked back.
We’re going to have to continue to go forward right, and continue to get better, but, you know, it’s a game of runs. We went on one, I don’t know what our run was, but we went on a run to take a 10 point lead as well. And it’s a matter of who has a run last, and they got the run last.
We have confidence in who’s on the court in that moment, and they went on a run, and that’s basketball is a game of runs, and we just didn’t have a run back to them in that second quarter, as you.
SU is now one and two to start the season for the first time since 2006 but head coach Felisha Legette-Jack believes it’s just the growing pains of having a younger squad.
