Syracuse Volleyball suffers its third straight loss in ACC play to #17 SMU

Inside what was a packed woman’s building on a Friday night, Syracuse took on its toughest task of the season facing its first ranked opponent of the year in number 17 SMU. Unfortunately, the Mustangs won 3.0 in straight sets. SU now facing adversity. For the first time this year after going undefeated 12 and oh record against non-conference opponents, the orange have dropped the first three games of a CC play. SU head coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam mentioned that the team needs to bounce back.

We might not get necessarily the result from a win loss standpoint throughout this first phase. It’s really important for us that we stay together. We don’t panic that we are focused on the process of improving as a team. That way when we do get the opportunity that we can come capitalize with

Adversity. And I think we try to implement that like a lot in practice. And I think moving forward it’s just continuing in that direction and like really, really putting the pressure on each other in practice. I think it starts from there. And continuing. Four, we know we have big matches ahead and like just stepping up and competing every day

With these three losses. Syracuse’s record is now 12 and three and the road and conference play doesn’t get any easier. Starting with the best team in the country. Pitt comes to the women’s building with a first serve on Sunday at 11:00 AM Josh Solomon citrus tv.
