Syracuse Volleyball drops another straight sets match against 4th ranked Louisville
Coming into tonight’s match against No. 4 Louisville, Syracuse Volleyball had lost all four of its previous games against ranked opponents in straight sets, and tonight was just more of the same. The Orange losing to the Cardinals in just three sets, but SU gave itself credit for the fight put up throughout the entire match.
“If you look at all the opposing teams we played in the top, you know, five to ten, right? And from the first match to today’s match, there’s evolution within the team, in the development, and it’s in a very positive way, you know?”
“I honestly think we played with a lot of fight and a lot of grit, because we knew coming to this game was going to be hard, but we all knew, like, we have nothing to lose. We all know that we’re the underdogs in the ACC, we say it all the time, but we just went out there and had fun. I think we all played with a lot of fight and just had fun and played, and we didn’t get the result we wanted, but I think we all are not satisfied, but we’re like, okay, with how we played.”
“But I’m really proud of the passing, the setting, like, the distribution was really good, and our hitters also found really good solutions, which makes me excited for the next game and, yeah, seeing those steps forward.”
After tonight’s loss, Syracuse is still just with one ACC win on the year, with a 13-12 record overall. The Orange stay here in the Women’s Building for a match on Sunday against Notre Dame, another team struggling in conference play with only two wins in the ACC this season.
First serve of that match is at 1.
