Another dual, and another win for Syracuse as they handled Delaware by a final score of 5-2. But what if I told you that the two points won by Delaware were in doubles and first singles?
Well, that was exactly the case today and after the match, Head Coach Younes Limam talked about how his team fought through adversity in the comeback win as well as how other singles players such as Polina Kozyreva have stepped up for S.U.
“We had a talk after doubles and the biggest thing was how were we going to react after losing that doubles point and they showed a lot of resilience, a lot of poise, and showed a lot of heart too,” said Limam.
Limam also touched on Kozyreva, saying, “Polina has been rock solid for us so far and just putting us on the scoreboard really quick. She just asked me right now if she could practice more. We’re off tomorrow and she wants to practice tomorrow, so that says a lot about her commitment and character and how much she cares about the team to keep getting better.”
Syracuse has become very comfortable playing at this venue, making it four wins out of four to begin 2023.
But for the first time this year, they will hit the road, heading to Philadelphia to take on Drexel. First serve of that one is on Saturday at 11 a.m.
