Syracuse Tennis Remains Undefeated With 6-1 Win vs Columbia.

It may have been giveaway day here at drumline, but Syracuse gave nothing away on its way to A 6-1 victory over Columbia. The orange won the doubles point, but got pushed to a third set in four of six singles matches. For SU head coach Younes Limam, how his team responds in tough moments is what separates his team from the rest.

Head coach Younes Limam:

We expected things to be closer and when things get close, just to take a deep breath and go back to the basics. So I think, I think the team did a really good job with that and we had a little bit of adversity. The momentum’s changing a little bit, but super proud of the team, how they stayed resilient and really, focused all the way through it.

Drew:

No one was more clutch for the orange than freshman Monica Wojcik After going down four zero in set number two, the ACC freshman of the week responded with A 7-5 victory for Wojcik. It’s not over till it’s over.

Monika Wojcik:

It’s not just you knowing that you have to fight for everyone else, too. It’s you know, it’s motivating. So yeah, it just gave me a little extra energy to keep going in both sets with the win.

Drew:

The Orange are undefeated 7-0. But the real test starts now. With non-conference play officially over, an ACC Gauntlet awaits the orange. That gauntlet starts this Friday against number seven North Carolina. Game time is set for 3:00. Reporting from drumlins. I’m Drew Albaugh, Citrus TV.
