Syracuse Tennis loses to No. 3 North Carolina 4-0

Drew Albaugh:

Coming into today’s contest, Syracuse tennis was red hot, winning seven straight matches. But in today’s game against number three North Carolina, the orange were ice cold in a four nothing loss to the Tar Heels. Syracuse loses its 15th straight against UNC. for SU head coach Younes Imam, There were still some positives to take away from the tough loss.

Younes Limam:

We always ask ourselves the question how was our effort attitude, enthusiasm and I think we we’ve done those three things. So I think the disappointment was the result. But, we’re super proud of the team. I think they battled. I think we, we throw everything at UNC that we had today. And credit to them. I mean, obviously, their record speak for themselves and their rankings, but at the end of the day, credit to them.

Anastasia Sysoeva:

And, we just got to learn from today’s match and get ready for Sunday. I think we came out, you know, we wanted to give it all, and everyone thought, you know, we had a lot of, points on a lot of courts and just the way we were cheering for each other. I think it shows that we gave it our all, and we’re ready to get back here on Sunday.

Drew:

The Orange lost all but one set against the Tar Heels and remain winless all time. Another team Syracuse has never beaten is number ten Duke. The Blue Devils come to Drumlins this Sunday at 1 p.m. It would be the Orange’s second ACC win of the season. Reporting from Drumlins I’m Drew Albaugh, CitrusTV.
