Syracuse tennis dominates all facets of court in sweep of Fordham

Drew Albaugh:
Singles matches may be one versus one, but it felt like Syracuse was everywhere on their way to a 7–0 victory against Fordham. Syracuse won every single match, two sets to none. It’s the first time that’s happened this season. SU player Nelly Kneskova knows domination starts by never underestimating your opponent.

Lina Askova:
“You can never underestimate anyone. I just try to stay focused, enjoy the game, and have fun. I focus on the ball, not on who’s against me. The message for the season is to play the ball, not the rankings of your opponents, and I think we’ve done a really good job with it—every single one of us.”

Younes Limam
“I think they were really focused from start to finish, and that’s what it takes sometimes in a tennis match—or in any sport. When you have momentum, if you take your foot off the gas, bad things can happen. But I’m very pleased with how they competed.”

Albaugh
It’s the third straight season the Orange starts 3–0.

Next up, Syracuse takes on Drexel. The Dragons fly into Drumlins a week from today at 11 a.m. Reporting from Drumlins, Drew Albaugh, Citrus TV.
