Syracuse Men’s Basketball falls short against North Carolina

Road winds are hard to come by in college basketball. Last year North Carolina was upset by Syracuse but Saturday night the tar Hills took care of business in an 88 to 82 win over the orange. UNC had lost four games in a row prior to this one and man did they earn this win. The Tar Heels shot 46% from beyond the three-point line. Ian Jackson added 23 points he led all scores and Jaylen Withers had easily his best game of the year. 19 points just two points shy of his career high.

Hubert Davis said this game was about doing the little things right when they haven’t for much of this year. “For it to work out today was validation for them that um those little things do matter and my hope is that will continue to build confidence in this young group and we continue to get better.”

Syracuse still within the top 15 of the ACC standings that advances to the conference tournament in March but after the loss they’re just two wins ahead of NC State who currently is on the outside looking in.

Autry said the focus is still just on SU’s next game. “We’re just trying to win the next game we don’t get too ahead of our so we just try to win the next game you know we’ll review the tape I’ll figure out what I need to do better our coaching staff needs to do better what everyone needs to do better.”

Syracuse Falls to 11 and 15, 5 and 10 in the ACC. They’ll get two days off before they go to Pittsburgh to take on the Pitt Panthers inside the Peterson Event Center. The Panthers came to the JMA Dome earlier this year and left with a win. Syracuse trying to avoid the season sweep. Reporting from inside the JMA Dome, I’m Carson Fowler CitrusTV.
