Syracuse field hockey falls in the first round of the NCAA tournament

Last season, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Syracuse field hockey was celebrating an overtime win over liberty. However, this year, the orange got a taste of their own medicine. SU fell one nothing to Harvard in overtime, sending the orange home packing. It’s not like Syracuse didn’t have their chances in this game. Tje orange had three attacking penalty corners, just simply couldn’t slot one home. And for Head Coach Lynn Farquhar, that was the primary reason for the loss.

We talked about this at one of the quarters to finish these components right. It’s a little 3d It’s the lateral movement. It’s taking a breath on the ball. In our attacking 25 we had the opportunities, and at this time of the year, it’s the team that converts

Despite the defeat this group, this team couldn’t have meant more to Farquhar.

you do this for a reason, and it’s people. And what this group gave beyond themselves and started to come together is, I just think is so impressive. They’re just amazing people. Any of them could hang out with anybody else on the team. They’re competitive. They have fun with it, whether it’s cards or the hockey. And that’s something I don’t think you see in every team, every squad. It’s the people you’d want to be around everyday.

The loss means that Syracuse will have to wait another nine months before starting a new campaign in 2025. For one final time this season, reporting from Storrs, Connecticut, Dan, Shalam Citrus TV.
