Syracuse Drops Two Games at Georgia Tech on Friday

Well, today in Atlanta, Syracuse Softball’s defense resembled what it has been for most of ACC play. A disappearing act. Syracuse dropped both games of Friday’s doubleheader to Georgia Tech, the first game an 11-6 defeat, with the second game a much narrower 4-3 loss. But once again, it’s SU struggling against conference opponents.

“Yeah, I thought we walked a lot of people, right. Like nothing good happens from, you know, walking as many people as we did, you know, and they capitalized on it. I thought they capitalized all day, you know, and so I thought Madison did a hell of a job, though settling in, right? Like to have a rough start like that, I thought was rough, right, but I think she did a really good job settling in, holding it to the four runs, at least giving us a chance, you know, to be able to win a ball game. So, you know, I’m extremely proud of her for not letting that thing spiral on us. I mean, like we’ve had every who who, you know, rah rah kind of talk, trying to feel good, trying to like figure some things out. Like there’s no more words. We just got to figure out how to play softball, you know what I mean? I mean we’ve had every hoop-la, rah-rah kind of talk trying to feel good, trying to, like, figure some things out. Like there’s no more words. We just got to figure out how to play softball, you know what I mean?”

If there’s one thing you can say about this team, it certainly will battle. But the defense must tighten up if SU wants to take even a game in this series. Its last chance to do that is tomorrow at 6 p.m. For now, though, reporting from Atlanta Cole Purvis, CitrusTV.
