SU WLAX falls to Stanford 15-10 in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.

In a 15-10 loss for Syracuse to Stanford in the quarterfinal round of the ACC championship, it didn’t always look grim for the Orange. SU went into the halftime break up 85, but then the moment simply got too big. SU was outscored in the second half 10-2 and didn’t tally a shot in the fourth quarter until the six-minute mark.

“I thought we had a good first half. We obviously didn’t have a great start. We came back and thought we had a great end of the first quarter and good second quarter and then we came out of halftime and really just didn’t execute. I thought we were we looked really tired. We still had plenty of opportunities, but we didn’t make plays when we needed to, and they did and that’s why they have the win.”

Now despite the loss and Syracuse’s ACC championship run coming to a quick stop, SU attacker Emma Ward made history. She became SU’s all-time leader in assists with 165.

That’s amazing. I mean, I’m so happy for her. Uh what an unbelievable accomplishment. Um you know, and she really is. She’s just one of the best passers I’ve seen. So, um I’m really happy for her. She absolutely deserves to be right there at number one. And I’m lucky I got to coach her.”

Well, with this loss, SU’s fate in the NCAA tournament is still unknown. The Cuse has to wait 12 days to figure out if it gets an at large bid into the big dance. But for now, reporting from Charlotte, Milo Hoffman, Citrus TV.
