No. 6 Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse takes down PITT despite a weather delay.

Milo Hoffman: After an overtime loss to number ten Johns Hopkins last Monday. Number six Syracuse women’s lacrosse bounced back with a 17-11 win over Pittsburgh. Now out of the gates, it was a struggle for the orange holding just a  four three lead in the first quarter. But then lightning struck literally.

Joely Caramelli: Yeah. Sometimes those are a blessing. We started off kind of flat. There wasn’t a lot of energy. And we went into the locker room and we all talked and you know, it was just a short one, which is nice, but we listened to some music. We got our energy up and then we came out pretty strong. So yeah, sometimes those are a blessing.

Hoffman: After an hour long weather delay, Syracuse outscored Pitt six one, and in that time they outshot the Panthers 13 four.

Kayla Treanor: We didn’t play great in the first quarter and we had the weather delay. We got together as a team. We got to watch some of the film, and we really just came out flat in the beginning of the game.So the second quarter, they had a lot of energy. They were ready to go and this game felt really long and obviously it was, but it’s hard to keep that kind of energy and momentum going for, you know, 3.5 hours. So we were a little bit up and down. But I thought our second quarter was great.

Hoffman: The Panthers did make it close in the end, cutting its lead to two goals in the fourth quarter. But another offensive outburst for the Orange helped seal the deal. SU’s next chance to pick up a victory is on Wednesday against Loyola. Opening draw is slated for 5 p.m. but for now, Reporting from Highmark Stadium, Milo Hoffman, citrus TV.
