No. 2 Syracuse men’s lacrosse defeats No. 16 Towson 18-7
In sports, it takes three goals to get a hat trick. And in second rank, Syracuse Mens Lacrosse’s eighteen seven victory over number 16 Towson tonight. Not one, not two, not three, but four different players registered three goals or more for the orange. For head coach Gary Gait, it all ties back to his squad’s offensive depth.
We’ve talked a lot about culture this year and playing team lacrosse and, you know, we keep saying you move the ball, we’ll score goals. And, you know, when you move the ball, they try to overplay one player and make a play on one. We spin the ball, and these guys are getting opportunities, and they’re getting good opportunities. So that’s why we have so many multiple scores because it doesn’t matter who’s out there. They’re moving the ball till we find good open quality shots.
All that offensive might led Syracuse to a seven o fourth quarter run.And for attackman Owen Hiltz, it all just comes down to the team’s chemistry offensively.
We kinda just ride the wave, the whole game. So there’ll be some times when we go on a little cold streak, but once we find our rhythm and start controlling the pace and, finishing the ball, we kinda capitalize and it just makes it easy.
Syracuse has now had at least six different goal scores in every game this season. The Orange seek to keep their sticks hot come Saturday against sixth ranked Maryland. The Terps allowed just around 10 goals a game last season. SU’s first road contest of 2025 is slated for 2PM from College Park. Reporting from the JMA Wireless Dome, Dan Shalam, Citrus TV.
