Syracuse Softball Ends Texas Trip on High Note

STEPHENVILLE, Tx – The Orange headed to the Tarleton Softball Complex Sunday morning battle-tested after splitting the first four games of the tournament. What separated them from a winning weekend was a battle against Alabama St.
Syracuse was propelled by an emphatic five-run first capped off by a Neli Casares-Maher no-doubter to center. After another run tacked on in the second, SU put things away with five more runs.
Tessa Galipeau knocked in three in just two plate appearances while Taylor Posner added a couple more.
Lindsey Hendrix finished the job for the pitching staff by tossing four innings and striking out seven. Kaia Oliver struggled in her only inning of relief, but the game was well decided by then.
An 11-1 bludgeoning of poor Alabama State should give the ‘Cuse some momentum heading into next weekend’s Plainsman Invite hosted by Auburn.
Syracuse will face Auburn twice, Bradley, Delaware State, and ULM over at Jane B. More Field in Auburn, Alabama.
