Full 2024-2025 Schedule Released for Syracuse Women’s Basketball

The 2023-2024 Syracuse women’s basketball season ended in heartbreak, a loss to #3 University of Connecticut in the round of 32 of the NCAA tournament. But overall it was a strong second season for Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack, as SU finished the year 24-8, third in the ACC. Coming into the season there are a few question marks on where the offensive production will come from after last year’s top scorer, Dyaisha Fair, was drafted into the WNBA. Fair shouldered most of the offensive workload averaging nearly 23 points per game. It will be up to returners like Georgia Wooley and Sophie Burrows to try and make up for that loss in offensive production.
SU’s schedule consists of 11 non-conference games and 18 ACC tilts. Eleven of those 29 contests come against teams that played in the NCAA tournament last season.
Syracuse opens the season against Niagara on October 30th at 7 p.m. from the JMA Wireless Dome. Let’s see what else is coming up for SU in the 2024-2025 season.
The Non-Con
The non-conference slate is headlined by a rematch with Maryland, the Emerald Classic, and the ACC/SEC challenge. Maryland is one of the only schools that jump off the page on the non-conference schedule. The Orange lost a heartbreaker 83-81, in College Park last season, it was SU’s only non-con loss in regular season play. Felicia Leggete Jack and company have a shot at redemption when the Terps come to the Dome on November 13th.
SU will start the Thanksgiving week down in Destin Florida, participating in the Emerald Coast Challenge. The Orange will face Missouri on Monday, November 25th, and either Wichita State or Creighton the following day.
SU’s final tune-up before the start of ACC play is the SEC/ACC Challenge against Texas A&M in College Station. The Aggies finished last season 19-13 before losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
ACC Play
It’s a new-look ACC with the additions of Stanford, Cal, and SMU. Syracuse opens up conference play against the reigning ACC champions Notre Dame in the JMA Wireless Dome on December 6. The conference schedule picks up in 2025, starting with a trip to Georgia Tech on January 2.
The home schedule for the Orange includes Notre Dame, SMU, Miami, NC State, Virginia, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh. SU dominated at the JMA Wireless dome last season, finishing with a 14-3 home record
The road slate consists of Georgia Tech, Florida State, Louisville, Boston College, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Stanford, Cal, and Duke. Boston College is the only team Syracuse will face both at home and on the road. The new ACC additions set up a nearly 3,000-mile trip out to the Bay Area. Syracuse heads west to match up with Stanford and Cal in mid-February.
