DJ’s on the Hill Closed
Ricky Sayer, SYRACUSE N.Y. – The popular Marshall Street bar DJ’s on The Hill has permanently closed, multiple knowledgeable sources tell CitrusTV News.
The owner of a separate Marshall Street business is working on transforming the space into a new bar or restaurant, sources tell CitrusTV.
DJ’s employees were first seen removing items from the space in early June. At the time, a bar manager claimed they were renovating the space.
A little over a month later, a group of contractors – who said they were unaffiliated with previous bar ownership – said they were cleaning up the space. Through the open back door It appeared the space was in the process of being gutted – with wires and air ducts hanging from the ceiling, and all decorations removed. Contractors were seen removing bar furniture and kitchen equipment.
The managers of DJ’s told Student Choice Market owner Maurice Krohl that DJ’s had turned over their keys, according to Krohl.
CitrusTV has been unable to reach DJ’s owner Dean P. Whittles. Krohl said Whittles moved to Arizona.
