Syracuse men’s basketball falls 96-70 to #3 Tennessee without guard J.J. Starling
Six hours prior to Syracuse’s 96-70 loss to third-ranked Tennessee, it was announced that guard JJ Starling would be out indefinitely after an injury to his non-shooting hand. So, with JJ out of the lineup, which Syracuse player would step up when his team needed it the most? Well….nobody. And head coach Adrian Autry sure seemed to think that JJ impact brings a huge impact to the court every time he’s out there.
We don’t have a timetable yet. But we do expect him back. You talk about JJ, one of the best guards in the country. A guy that is explosive, a guy that can get to the basket, a guy that can make plays. Not only for himself but for others. He does a lot for us.
With the win, Tennessee moves to 8-0 for the first time since 2000. Meanwhile, for Syracuse, a chance to bounce back looms. Saturday at 12 pm, SU takes on Notre Dame, a team they’ve won their last 3 against. Srikar Rajendran, Citrus TV.
