Syracuse Volleyball losses a crushing 3-2 match against Boston College

The sport of volleyball can certainly be a mix of emotions, and tonight for Syracuse Volleyball specifically, that’s exactly the case. SU was down 2-1 against Boston College but rallied back to force a 5th set, eventually losing though 19-17 in that final 5th set, and going under .500 for the first time this season with a 14-15 record. But tonight was more than just the match, it was senior night here in the women’s building, and head coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam along with a couple of graduate students mentioned how big of an impact this team made in their lives.

The graduates did a tremendous job, they really helped us to bring leadership on the court and off the court, and really were a connection between the coaching staff and the younger players on the court, and helped the younger players to develop.

Coming this far, you kind of really find that gratitude for every day, and with the wins there’s going to be losses, and it’s kind of, you don’t have to love it, but it’s going to happen, and you have to take it, and just like, we still get to play, and I think we really fought tonight, and I think we’re going to continue to fight for those on our team that also got their seasons cut short and stuff like that, and keeping those people in mind. Yeah, I think going into the match, obviously, it’s senior night, and that brings up lots of feelings, but I think really wanting to enjoy the match and compete, we’ve been looking forward to Boston College, we see them in the airport and all these different things, we really wanted to compete and have a great match, and so just enjoying the last couple of games we get all playing together.

Well, this is the final stretch for Syracuse Volleyball in its 2024 season. Only three matches left, so only three more times the graduating seniors for SU can make their mark, it starts with a rematch against Boston College on Sunday at 1, and then Syracuse comes back here for their final home match of the season to take on California, a team that went five sets against the Orange earlier this season. However, this is my final time in the Women’s Building for this season, so reporting for one final time from the Women’s Building,
