No. 12 Syracuse field hockey falls 1-0 to No. 9 Boston College in regular season finale
On an emotional senior day here at Coyne stadium, 12th ranked Syracuse field hockey’s regular season ended in heartbreak. The orange fell to ninth ranked Boston College one nothing. BC netted their lone goal of the contest off an attacking penalty corner in the fourth quarter. It’s not like Syracuse didn’t have a APC chances of their own. SU had five in the final frame, yet failed to score on any of them. For Head Coach Lynn Farquhar, that’s something that needs to be tidied up.

Earning corners and being able to capitalize those we’ve earned them. We were up numbers again. So it’s a small details, and at this time of the year, so much of it’s mental. So we got to fight and bring the ownership of a tempo to the table, which I think we can do. I’m excited about. I think what you’ve seen too, is this group gets better and better every time you watch the play right, threatening in different ways. To me, that’s what it’s about.
The loss marks Syracuse’s third defeat to a top 10 team this season. The focus for SU now shifts to the ACC tournament next week., The orange are set as the five seed and will play either Boston College or third ranked Virginia. SU has met up with both teams in the first round over the last couple of years. SU took down BC two seasons ago before crashing out to UVA last year. From Coyne stadium, Dan Shalam, Citrus TV.
