The first ever meeting between Syracuse and UNLV in program history was an absolute classic. Fireworks, chaos, back and forth, all sorts of high-stakes emotion. Anything you could want in a college football game, this game had. At postgame, head coach Fran Brown was very appreciative and thankful of UNLV for allowing Syracuse to come out to Las Vegas, and show what they are made of.
“I’m extremely thankful that we got a chance to come to Vegas and play against those guys on Friday night. It was no better matchup for us to be able to go up against, and just show what we can do, and how resilient we can be against a good football team.”
The star of the show was none other than LeQuint Allen, who totaled 4 touchdowns, including the game-winner right here to send Orange nation into a frenzy. Allen had missed multiple plays in the middle of the game with an injury that was described to head coach Fran Brown as an 8 out of 10 on the pain scale. But for number 1, it’s all about getting on the field and leaving it all out there.
“At the end of the day, if I can run and jog, I can still go out there for my team because no one is bigger than the S.”
The Orange will have a little over a week to savor their first ranked road win since 2010. But next Saturday, they’ll be on the road again to take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack in a game that kicks off at 8 PM.
