#14 Syracuse Field Hockey takes down Northeastern 2-0
Offense, offense. Offense was the name of the game today in 14th-ranked Syracuse field hockey’s two-nothing win over Northeastern. The Orange outshot the Huskies 22 to four in the contest. That’s the most shots in a single game for Syracuse since they played Wagner last year. For Head Coach Lynn Farquhar, it was all about making offensive adjustments coming into this game.
“You know, in sport, there’s a lot to work on. And if we talk about every single thing and expect it to happen in the next minute or five minutes or quarter, the reality is it’s not right again. We’re piecing together a team, so we’re looking for opportunity. What you saw from Vivi is huge. That didn’t show up against Ohio State right, so that’s something we need to celebrate and feed off of.
Forward Hattie Madden
“I mean 2 shots are impressive, but there are only two goals. So we want to keep working on that and hopefully get more on the board. You want to create 21 chances every game and keep it going.”
Farquhar
“The opportunities are there, now another element is execution”
The win marks the first victory for Syracuse here at Coin Stadium in 361 days. The Orange will look to keep the momentum, rolling on Sunday against Lafayette, game time is slated for 4 pm. From Coyne Stadium, Dan Shalam, Citrus TV
