My name is Katie Fongvongsa and I’m currently a senior double majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and Political Science. I transferred to SU for my sophomore year from the University of Minnesota. Last summer, I interned at WCCO in Minneapolis, MN and it’s also where home is for me!
What is your favorite thing you have done as part of CitrusTV?
My favorite thing I’ve done at CitrusTV is anchoring News Live at 6. Ever since I’ve joined, that’s been my goal. It’s always such a blast on Friday News!
What are some of the things you have learned at Citrus?
I’ve learned how to make deadline by being a day reporter, increased my news judgment by producing CitrusTV NOW, and brought out my personality more by anchoring.
Would you recommend joining CitrusTV to an incoming freshman?
Definitely, you live and you learn by making mistakes here and this is such a valuable experience to have.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I’m planning to work in local news as a reporter!
