Throughout history Syracuse Volleyball has dominated Clemson. Coming into tonight the Orange had won 12 of 15 matches against the Tigers However, tonight did not repeat itself as SU fell in straight sets. After the match, Head coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam was extremely pleased with the performance.
“Going in, we knew it was gonna be tough for us from an offensive standpoint just because of the reason we just talked about, especially on the pin position. But we also knew that we could still execute if we stayed in the system. I thought our serve was really good. Overall it really allowed us to disturb the ball and put our hitters in good positions. Especially the middles who really carried the load today. The fact that we were able to produce these numbers today was incredible”.
“We were very competitive and we all wanted to win.” “As long as we keep pushing and being competitive and take that to the next match it should help us”.
Even in tonight’s lose, Su was plus 19 in the kills to errors ratio. The Orange will have another chance at its first Acc win back here on Sunday when they host number 11 Georgia tech. First serve is for 1 p.m.
