SU Pep Band Finds New Ways to Practice
By: Teagan Brown
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – While there have been no fans at basketball or football games in the dome this year, there has also been no band.
The Syracuse University marching band and pep band were unable to attend the games this year to support the team, but that didn’t stop them from making music.
The pep band had one of their last practices in the end of March and members were just happy that they got to continue playing and attending practices throughout the year.
The band even created an album of their songs to document all of their hard work.
Director of Athletic Bands, Timothy Diem, explained that members were spaced twelve feet apart as well as being equipped with special masks in order to play.
There is no definitive plan for what the marching band season will look like in the Fall, but students hope for a more normal season.
Fans were allowed into the dome at the end of the lacrosse season, but no capacity guidelines have been announced for next semester.
